Philip Barnes

Philip Barnes (47) has been ministering in Southern Baptist Churches since his college days at Oklahoma Baptist University in the early 90’s. He met Kimberly (47), his wife and lifelong ministry partner, while there. The two will be celebrating 27 years of marriage this July. They have three children, Ransom (22), a manufacturer in Lawton, Oklahoma, Tait (19), a freshman at Liberty University, and Kambry (16), a high school junior. With his masters from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Philip has served as a pastor in Texas, Oklahoma, and Connecticut. His church leadership material “All” has been used by a dozen churches to help build a spiritual growth mentality by encouraging active mentoring. The Barnes’ are family-oriented and love to play games, visit new places, and listen to good music.

+ See a message from Daniel

I am tremendously excited to be part of the music ministries. I was born in Florida, spent most of my life in South Carolina and Georgia. I have undergraduate and graduate degrees in music. I worked for six years teaching choir and piano at a private school near Atlanta. I have also worked for eight years as a church music minister. I have a burden for music in the church, and a desire to see God’s worship be glorious – He is worth nothing less!
